The Sweet Time

Edible Sculptures

The Sweet Time is a series of edible sculptures that explore how dessert materials evoke emotion through texture and form. Used 3D printing to create molds tailored to each material’s properties, including sugar, chocolate, and gelatin. A snowy sugar forest captures fragility, a rigid chocolate city resembles industrial architecture, and a translucent gelatin landscape evokes childhood wonder.

The Forest - Sugar

Sugar cast creates a unique sprinkle-like texture that evokes snow. Since sugar cast breaks easily when demolded, I 3D-printed a hard plastic shell instead of using silicone. I fill the mold with sugar and release it once it’s slightly dried.

The City - Chocolate

Chocolate reminded me of rigid industrial blocks, so I shaped it into small city-like buildings. Since chocolate hardens after casting, I used slightly elastic TPU to 3D-print two-part molds for filling with melted chocolate.

Dream Land - Jelly

Gelatin with coloring creates translucent pieces that are flexible and playful. Since gelatin is soft and difficult to cast, I first molded the 3D-printed design in silicone, then recast the gelatin from the silicone mold.
